NFRI to host Fusion School Science Camp 2011

- Students from primary and middle school starting on the 18th can experience
fusion energy through this exciting science program

□ National Fusion Research Institute (President Lee Gyung-su) announced “Fusion School Science Camp” which is hosted by NFRI twice on the 18th thru the 21st by its educational contribution program.

○ ‘Fusion School Science Camp’ is one of the scientific educational programs that was developed by NFRI and is the event that not only provides a fun scientific experience on fusion energy to raise awareness among students, but also improves creative thinking.

□ Fusion School will be held along with various experimental programs such as plasma producing and heating, experience of an electromagnet principle, science principles inside the magic and experiments of superconductive phenomenon among other programs. It also includes a scheduled visit to a science related organization such as the National Science Museum and Artificial Satellite Center in KAIST.

○ NFRI stated “We prepared the program because you can learn and enjoy fusion energy instead of finding it difficult. It could be a good opportunity for children to become interested and concerned in the fusion energy field.”

□ All the students fourth to sixth grade in primary school (18~19 th ) and middle school (20~21th) can participate for free and recruitment will be limited to 40 students each until the 12 th of January (Wed.) on a first-come-first-served basis.
